Today's Comments From Gabe

As we were walking into Mall Tots today, on another rainy Thursday morning, Gabe looked down at the wet pavement and said:

"This mud is quite unusual."

Gabe wore his fireman raincoat and boots today because of the rain.  As we were walking back to the car from Mall Tots, Gabe said:

"That was a fun fireman adventure this morning."

Ricardo Gabe

Forgot to post this story.  So, after watching a Bob The Builder episode last week, we went into the playroom where we pretended to "fix" things with Gabe's tools.  Gabe would ask what needed to be fixed, and I'd suggest a toy or a wall, etc.  He and Zach would hammer the toy or wall (eeek!) or saw the toy, etc.  Then in the midst of our play, Gabe asked me what his name should be, and I suggested that he be "Gabe The Builder".  He didn't like that.  He thought and thought and came up with quite an original title:  "Ricardo Gabe".

Ricardo is our contractor, and whenever something is broken in the house, Gabe always suggests that Ricardo can fix it (even if it's a simple battery change).  As Zach was fixing things, too, Gabe called Zach, "Ricardo Zach".  So, Ricardo Gabe and Ricardo Zach were working "vigorously" around the playroom the other day.  Such a cute moment.

Some Cute One-Liners Before I Forget

Gabe asked what kind of day it was today (par usual) and when I told him that it was a school day, he replied, "school's all done."  When I asked him why he said,  "It's all done.  I'm done with school."  Oh, little munchkin.  If you only knew how much MORE school you have ahead of you....

Zach had a poopy diaper about 5 minutes after we changed him this morning.  When I asked him if he had a poop, he said, "no a waya."  Gah!  Too funny.

I Did Not Know

I had no idea that Zach could count to 10 (well, sort of)!  As he pumped soap all over the tub tonight (from the soap pump dispenser), he said with each pump, "one, tooo, feee, fie, sick, seben, ate, fie sick...yay!"

My baby is growing up!!   ):

Here's a link to the video that I took of him counting last night:

I Climbed Up Your Neck

So, Gabe's been trying to figure out how being born works.  This morning, he asked if Zach grew up in his belly.  When I reminded him that both he and Zach grew in Mommy's belly, he asked, "did I come up your neck?"

I kind of knew where this was going, but I said, "what was that?"

Here's how it goes:

Gabe:  I was in your belly and I climbed up your neck.

Me:  You climbed up my neck?

Gabe:  Yes.  Did I come out of your mouth?

Me:  No.  You didn't come out of my mouth.

Gabe:  Well, how did I come out, then?

Me:  The doctors helped you out.

Gabe:  Silence.

Ah, I love when things just stop there!!!

Fun With Dada

Before Jason left for China, Gabe stayed up later and played with his Dad.  I caught some cute shots.

Boo At The Zoo

We took the boys to the Stone Zoo on Saturday morning.  I thought the zoo was celebrating Halloween this past weekend, but I wasn't sure.  When we pulled up to the parking lot, kids in costume were hopping out of cars, and my costume-less Gabe got very distraught that he was not in costume.  Luckily, he eventually go over the disappointment of not having his costume, and we participated in the trick or treating at the zoo.  It was fun, and the boys spent a good amount of time in the playground at the zoo.  Gabe made friends with a little boy dressed up as Buzz Lightyear and the two played really well together.  The zoo trip ended with a train ride, as always.

Munchkin Friends Third Annual Pumpkin Decorating Party

We had our third annual pumpkin decorating party with our moms' group friends at a local farm stand.  This is a fun party, especially as the kids are getting older and are more excited about crafts.  Thanks to Auntie Tee Tee (who came to help), the boys actually painted their pumpkins and put stickers on them.

The pumpkin decorating doesn't take long for the boys (whereas the girls in the group decorate for such a long time).  So, Gabe and Zach explored the farm stand and kept themselves busy playing with a hose that sprayed water, picking up broken mum stems and giving them to me as bouquets, and watching the workers load trash into a dumpster.  Good times!!
