A Huge Thank You To Auntie Auntie

My friend, Margot, and I decided to meet up at a park around the corner from Auntie Auntie's office this morning.  We planned to meet early, since the parking there is limited.  When we got there, all of the spots were taken; so I called Auntie Auntie to see if we could park at EF.

Auntie Auntie came through and smuggled our cars into the parking garage.  Of course, we paid her office a visit as well.  Man, those boys were amped to see their Auntie and her office building.  Within a second of entering the builidng, Gabe was climbing the decorative rocks in the lobby, and Zach was trying to throw smaller, decorative rocks into their fountain area.  And when we went upstairs to visit her team, they were just as frenetic.

We had a great time at the park, especially because there's a splash section (and it was 95 degrees out today).  But, when we all went back to our cars via the EF Lobby, chaos ensued again.  Hendrik had a rock in his hands faster than fast, which he loudly threw into the little pond.  And then Gabe pressed the emergency button in the garage elevator, causing the lobby attendant to call us over the elevator intercom to inquire as to the emergency.

So sorry, Auntie.  We will not take advantage of you and your office parking again.  I'm pretty sure that the lobby attendant will see to it that we're banned from the premises anyway.  Argh!

A Marriage Proposal

Over two years ago, Gabe and his friend, Evelyn, were playing together and pretending to be married (Evelyn's idea).  The other day, Evelyn came home from school with the following drawing, which her mother emailed me:

The picture reads, "When I grow up I want to be a Mommy because I want to marry my friend Gabe."  Gah!  How sweet is that?  And according to Evelyn's mom, Evelyn is holding a baby in her left hand.

When I told Gabe about Evelyn's drawing, this is how the conversation went:

Gabe: but I'm married to you.  I can't marry Evelyn.  I think I'll marry Auntie Auntie.

Me:  Okay.  Do you know who else wants to marry you?

Gabe:  Who?

Me:  Your friend, Will.  And your friend, Joseph.

Gabe:  I want to marry Joseph and I want to marry all of those people.  I guess I'll marry all of them, then.

A Morning Excursion To The Aquarium

We haven't been to the aquarium in a while, so I thought we'd go this morning.  We got there early in the morning, so it wasn't very crowded at first.  The boys enjoyed the shark & sting ray touch tank.  Gabe wanted to touch the rays this time - he touched rays and a shark!  We spent some time watching the divers feed the fish and then caught a quick seal show.  Other than a meltdown at the very end, it was a fun morning.

Happy Father's Day!

We were supposed to go on a whale watch today, but the water was choppy and the tour was cancelled.  So, we went to Drumlin Farm instead.  The boys enjoyed seeing the animals and taking a tractor ride.  After nap, we took a swim in the pool with baby Drew.  It was a wonderful, sunny day, and I hope Jay enjoyed it.

Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers in our families.  We love you all!

Last Swim Lesson

We went to our last swim lesson on Saturday.  The boys did great - it's so much fun to see how much they've learned with their lessons.  And, man, do these boys love their swim lessons.

Afternoon Playdate With Baby Drew

Alanna and Drew were in town for the weekend, and they stopped by on Thursday afternoon for a play date.  All three boys played so well together.  It was a lot of fun.
