Canobie Lake Park

We took the boys to Canobie Lake Park on Memorial Day, and it was a hit!  The boys loved the rides, and Gabe particularly loved the water rides.  It wasn't a very hot day, but we took them on this water plunge ride; when our boat plunged into the water creating a giant tsunami over us, Gabe turned to Jason and said: "That. Was. AWESOME."  And then we proceeded to go right back on the ride again and got even more wet.  Great times!

Third Annual Firetruck Parade

For the third year in a row, we happened to be home when the annual firetruck parade (of which there is never any promotion or forewarning) went by our house.  It's a fun parade; though the noise was less appealing to Gabe this year.  As the trucks passed, honking their horns, Gabe yelled, "Honk!" right back at them, covering his ears with his fingers.  He then proclaimed that it's an "annoying" parade.  Ah well...

Zach's Big Boy Bed!

We converted Zach's daybed into a big boy bed this past weekend, with the hope that it might inspire him to feel like a big boy (and maybe consider using the potty at some point soon).  Gabe was a love and so supportive of his brother's milestone.  He encouraged Zach, was excited for him, etc.  It was so incredible to see Gabe being the wonderful big brother that he can be.

90 Degrees in May!

When the temperatures hit 90 last week, we were happy to have the pool open and ready to swim early this year.  Gabe is completely independent in the pool now - no life jacket or floaties.  He jumps into the deep end, swims the length of the pool, etc.  It's amazing and relieving.  Zach's working hard on his swimming, too.  He uses floaties and prefers to jump into our arms still, but he can swim by himself in swim lessons and is making tremendous progress.  Happy times!
