Introducing...............Our New Microwave!

Our microwave died a couple of weeks ago, and the new one finally arrived!

You didn't think that I was crazy enough to blog about a new microwave, did you?  The boys are loving the empty space where the old microwave sat.  They call it their "oven house".  Turns out, they'll be able to play in their oven house for a while longer, since the new microwave didn't fit into the built in.  Argh!

Huckleberry Hill School

The boys are finally of an age when they can have fun at the playground behind our house at the Huckleberry Hill School.  Last weekend, we took the kids up the hill to play and ride bikes.  It was soooo windy that we didn't do much bike riding; but we still had fun.

love that one!

Zach liked hiding from the wind under this slide

Our First Playdate With Baby Lukas!

Our friends, Evelyn & Hendrik, came over to play last week with their new baby brother, Lukas.  The kids all had a great time.  We never heard from Hendrik, who played silently in the playroom with the toy cars the entire playdate.  Gabe, Evelyn & Zach enjoyed playing "super heroes" and dress up with the capes and costumes that my mom made for the boys.  Thanks again, Mom!

Funny story.  At lunch, Evelyn turned to Gabe and said, "Gabe, I love you.  When I'm older, I'm going to marry you."  In reply, Gabe said, "I love you, too; but I'm not going to marry you.  I'm going to marry Joseph because I love him more."  Gah!!!!

we only have 2 capes, so I had to put together a third cape from a towel for Zach

Holly Hill Farm In Cohasset

We went down to visit my parents last week over school vacation.  We visited two farms; the better of the two was Holly Hill Farm, right down the street from my parents' house.  What fun it was!  There were two ponies, goats, bunnies, chickens, etc.  The farm is open all day and free to visitors.  In fact, the owners leave everything open, including their supply barns; everything is on your honor.  Pumpkin the pony was the big hit.  Both Gabe and Zach enjoyed petting him, feeding him hay from the ground, and just watching him.  Here are the cute pics:

here we are at the top of the hill

the view from the top - you can see Boston and the ocean

then we took a walk in the "deep, dark woods" behind Weir Farm.  Gabe saw a log and wanted to sit on it.  it became the perfect photo op.

Gabe couldn't get his (big) head out of the hole. in this shot, my mom's behind the tomato wall, helping him.
