Happy 3rd Birthday, Zach & A Friend's Birthday Party

It's hard to believe that my baby is three years old!  Zach is now as old as Gabe was when we moved into our home in Lynnfield!  Time is flying by...

On Zach's actual birthday, we attended the birthday party of one of Gabe's school friends, Nicole.  It was a hot, sunny day, and both boys had a great time.

To celebrate Zach's birthday, we had a cake in Maine with the Dawson family and a cake in Cohasset with Nini & Papa on the 4th of July.  We partied for days.

A Visit To The Stoneham Fire Station

Auntie Titi invited us to visit cousin Danny Dawson at the Stoneham Fire Department a couple of weeks ago.  It was a fun visit.  The boys got to sit in the trucks, check out the lockers & equipment, etc.  It's super fun to have a firefighter in the family!

Gabe wanted to wear his fireman raincoat & rain boots (even though it was Hot & Humid)

Zach wanted to bring his toy firetruck (in his hand)

at the wheel (and super psyched)

Summer School 2012

I registered both boys for the Melrose Recreation Summer program again this year - this will be Gabe's second year and Zach's first.  Some of our friends from our mother's group (and our friend Joseph from school) are attending as well.

Gabe jumps right on in and participates so well.  Zach has been shy and not very excited about the program.  Yesterday, however, Joseph & Jonathan (who are attending the second session with us) visited us at the first session.  Seeing how excited Joseph & Jonathan were to play was inspiring for Zach.  He participated without my encouragement for the very first time.  So proud of the little guy!

Here are some pics of the boys at "summer school".

A Weekend In June

It's been far too long since I sat down to post.  Summer is a busy time, indeed!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to two family barbecues and a whale watch.  The barbecues were great - it's always so much fun to see family.

The whale watch was a lot of fun, too - both boys had a great time.  It helped that our boat spotted whales only 25 minutes or so out of Gloucester (we were parallel to Boston, actually).  We spent most of the time chasing after one whale in particular; but we got to see about 3 different whales, one of whom was a Finn whale (the second largest mammal in the world).  Cool stuff!

The whale watch was Auntie Auntie's idea - a great one!
