Beginnings & Endings

Here are pictures from Gabe's first and last days of school for 2011-2012.  See how much he's grown?  It really is going TOO fast!

First Day - September 2011

Back then, Mommy picked out my clothes and I loved my Land's End "Gabe" backpack

Now, I pick out my own clothes, dress myself, and have a Transformer backpack

I'm as cute as ever

Looking back on these pictures makes me think of how far Gabe's truly come this past school year.

Zoorasic Park

I'd been excited about taking the boys to see "Zoorasic Park" at the Franklin Park Zoo.  It's a temporary dinosaur exhibit, and I thought it would be loads of fun.  It was fun; but not loads.  Thankfully, the boys had a good time.  I, on the other hand, was a bit disappointed.  For an additional fee, you enter a (far too short) circular path that looks like a jungle/forest with robotic dinosaurs hidden admist the trees.  Gabe didn't seem to be too afraid; Zach wanted me to hold his hand most of the time.  However, I was proud of both boys for being so brave with the dinosaurs.

Memorial Day Parade 2012

It's been so long since I caught up with my blog posts.  Here are some pictures from Memorial Day.  While Gabe went to his second Red Sox game (this time with Momo), Jason and I took Zach down to Cohasset to watch their Memorial Day Parade.  Later in the day, we went to a barbecue at our friends, Rebecca and Zoe's, house.  The weather was beautiful, and both boys had a great, long weekend.

watching the parade in my wagon (or as I like to call it, my "dragon cart")

Nini pulled me all along the parade route, and for part of the time, I wanted Dada to hold my hand.

ca-ute!

on the way home, I wanted to help Dada to push the dragon cart

End Of The School Year Fun 2012

As school wrapped up for Gabe, there were quite a few fun activities.  First, "Wiggles & Giggles" visited the school.  Joyce is the name of the woman who performs for Wiggles & Giggles.  She's a mom herself and has TONS of energy.  The kids loved her program.

The PTO sponsored an annual end of the year party for kids and families last week.  It was held indoors (due to the weather).  The kids ate pizza and Richie's slush and had tons of fun spending an evening together at the school.

The "athletic director" (the school's occupational therapist) held an annual "Fun & Fitness" day.  Parents and siblings were invited to watch the kids perform yoga and other athletic activities.  Super cute.

Finally, on the last day of school, some of the moms met up at the REC center in Peabody - an indoor play place - to celebrate the end of the year.  It's so hard to believe that Gabe has completed another year of school.  We're so proud of him and all of his hard work.  He made some great friends this year, many of whom we'll try to get together with over the summer.  Next year, he'll go to school five mornings a week (with Zach going two days a week!).  Until then, I can't resist singing, "school's out for summer!"
