I thought last Thursday morning we'd beat the afternoon rain and head to the Franklin Park zoo in the early morning. Unfortunately, it started to sprinkle and then rain soon after we arrived, but it didn't stop us from having a ton of fun. I can't believe it's taken me so long to make the trip down there. It was GREAT! We saw zebras, giraffes, a lion (who roared when he saw us!), apes, an anteater, a hippo, kangaroos, and peacocks (who had the run of the place and were not caged). We were the first people to enter the zoo, so we were also the first to make it to the lion area. Maybe that's why he roared? It was really fun for the boys to hear him.
Here are the pics:
waiting to get into the zoo (we were half an hour early)
peacock!

checking out the giraffes
apes (why does this happen to my pics??)

I wish I remembered what he saw in this shot....
