Ginormous

I'm trying to arrange a play date for Gabe and his school friend, Joseph.  Gabe still talks about Joseph all of the time, and we've only had him over once.

Here's the glitch: Gabe comes home from school reporting that he had a fight with Joseph, that Joseph is older than him (which he's not), that he told Joseph that he's not his friend anymore and then told him that he is his friend, etc..

I suspect that Gabe likes Joseph so much that he doesn't know how to mange his feelings, and it seems like he acts out a lot with Joseph.  I wasn't sure what Joseph was saying about Gabe at home, so I reached out to his mom to test the waters and see if Joseph would want to come over and play.

Turns out, Joseph's mom told me that Gabe is "the reason that Joseph gets out of bed so quick and excited for school."  Hearing that just made my heart explode; I am just so happy that their friendship is on good terms.

This has been a long post about a very short and funny statement that Gabe made today.  So, let me get to it.  After hearing that Joseph is still crazy about Gabe, I told Gabe that I was trying to arrange a play date for him and Joseph.  This is how the conversation went:

Me:  Buddy, I talked to Joseph's Mom today about having a play date with Joseph soon.

Gabe:  Is Joseph coming over after this day?

Me:  No, honey.  We'll have him over one day very soon; but not tomorrow.

Gabe:  Joseph told me that he's 5 [years old] and then we got into a ginormous fight.

Ginormous, people.  I just love that he used the word ginormous.
