I can't believe how long it's taken me to post something! I'm so sorry, my little blog. So much has happened this fall, including Gabe starting kindergarten (!), and I intend to catch up and post photos; but tonight's dinner conversation couldn't go un-posted.
Here are two cute Zachisms
I was JUST thinking about taking the boys to the woods next summer to camp, when Zach asked at dinner tonight if we could go camping again. We started talking about camping, and Zach asked if we could stay in a truck (a camper). I told him that we probably could try out a camper one day; and then I told the boys how I stayed in a camper when I was a little girl and my parents took me to Disney World. This is how the conversation then proceeded:
Zach: But where was I?
Me: You weren't born, yet.
Zach: I was in your belly?
Me: No, hun, you weren't born, yet. You weren't here, yet.
Zach: But I was in your body?
Me: Well...
Zach: I think I was in your leg and then I went up into your belly later.
Me: You think?
How do you explain the "before me" time to children? Gah!

Later at dinner, we were talking about Thanksgiving and the pilgrims. Here's how things went:
Jason: Mama, did you know that Gabe told me the other day that Christopher Columbus discovered this country in 1492?
Me: I didn't know that you knew that! That's so great, Gabe. How did you get so smart?
Gabe: Yea, and they called it the New World.
Us: That's right!
Zach: And they came to Plymouth Plantation. We talked about that at school.
Us: That's right! You guys are so smart!
Me: Mommy was born in Plymouth. That's where I was born.
Zach: Were the pilgrims there?
Me: No, not at that time, honey.
Zach: That's right. They lived on a different planet.
Ba Ha Ha Ha!!!! They are too cute!
