So, I signed the kids up for some summer classes with the Melrose Recreation Department (several of the moms from my moms' group were also signing up). It's been the BEST thing to happen to our summer (aside from my weekend away on Block Island). I think I paid less than $50 for 8 weeks of recreation fun. We go three mornings per week to a kick, run & throw class and a story-time and parachute class. On Fridays, the Rec Dept. hosts a pizza party on the Melrose Common - you buy a slice of pizza for $1 and then bring the kids to the bouncy house, over-sized blown up basketball hoop, face painting, etc. All for FREE! I **heart** the Melrose Rec. Dept.
