So, here's another example of the toddler egocentric thinking.
This morning, Gabe had a bad case of the hiccups (which always makes me think of the way he says pick up truck. He says hiccup truck). Anyway, he tried lying down on the couch (not dramatic or anything), but that didn't work. I told him that sometimes when someone scares you, it scares the hiccups away. All of a sudden, I yelled, "Booo!" He laughed, but they didn't go away. Of course, he loved when I yelled boo, so we had to do that many times. I then told him that when I was a little girl, Nini used to say booo to me to scare my hiccups away. Later in the day, we were walking up the stairs and Gabe said, "when I was a little girl, Nini used to scare my hiccups away."
This afternoon, we got ready to dye some Easter eggs. I told Gabe that when I was a little girl, I dyed eggs with Nini, to which he replied, "when I was a little girl, I dyed Easter eggs with Gampa. And then I hugged him."
And later when we were dying the eggs and he saw the lemon juice (that we added to enhance the color), he asked what it was. When I told him that it was lemon juice, he said, "when I was a little girl I loved lemon juice."
Funny stuff.
