Okay, I'm sure I've blogged about Gabe's memory before. But, it never (and I mean never) ceases to amaze me.
This morning when he asked me what kind of a day it was today, I told him that (cousin) Sara was coming over. (Yoohooo! Mommy gets a morning break!) Gabe then said, are Sara, Emily, and Julia coming? I could not believe that Gabe remembered all of his cousins' names and that they were a family. It just goes to show me that he's really starting to know all of the individual families in our larger extended family.
It reminded me of the time when I came back from Block Island and Gabe wanted to read a new book that Auntie Auntie had given him - Tikki Tikki Tembo. I'd read the book to him ONCE a few weeks before our weekend away. When I started reading the book, Gabe remembered Tikki Tikki Tembo's full name.
He said: "Tikki Tikki Tembo No Sa Rembo Chari Bari Ruchi Pip Pero Pembo"
And he pronounced that whole name correctly! Seriously!? I was shocked, so I asked him if anyone had read the book to him. He told me that Momo read it to him under the tree outside. What? I was sure that he was telling stories, so I checked with Momo. Evidently Gabe was telling the truth; Momo had read Tikki Tikki Tembo to him outside under the pine tree, but she only read it to him twice. So, he'd heard the book 3 (three) times, and he remembered that long name. And he still remembers it to this day. He just told J about Tikki Tikki this morning, in fact.
Incredible, right? This is why I refer to this blog as my "brog"---- because I'm definitely a proud, bragging and blogging mom.
