Ambivalence
Gabe impressed me with a simple statement the other day. Back story: he doesn't want the snow to melt. He's enjoyed looking out at the snow in the backyard. He'll talk about how he doesn't want the snow to go away. Now that the snow has all melted, I think he realizes that we get to have our backyard to play in again. So, he said to me out of the blue, "Mom, I like the snow, and I don't like the snow." I told him that I knew what he meant and that I agreed. I remain impressed by the fact that he understands that it's possible to have two opposing feelings about the same thing. He never ceases to amaze me.
