Most of you know the trauma that happened to us at Trader Joe's just before Christmas. Zach was in the carriage and Gabe climbed onto the side of it, sending the carriage crashing to the ground with Zach stuck inside and Gabe pinned underneath. Anyway, today we went back to Trader Joe's for the first time as a threesome. Zach sits in the main part of the carriage now (he refuses to sit up front - he remembers the trauma), and Gabe sits up front. No more standing on the carriage for us.
Anyway, we were doing our shopping when all of a sudden a cart went crashing to the ground near us. And one of the kids went flying. The child was older (probably 7) and he wasn't hurt. I think he'd been standing on the side of it, too. Anyway, all three of us had flashbacks to our own carriage incident, and so we had to process (Gabe had to process) the event for a bit. Seriously, though? According to the Trader Joe's worker who came running to the scene, their carriages are very light, so they tip easily. I think it's time for them to invest in new carriages, for crying out loud.
Just before all of this happened, my boys were sitting in the carriage, quiet and happy (they were eating some dried fruit snacks). One of the workers commented that they were so good and quiet, and in response Gabe said, "yesterday my tummy was grumble-y." Sometimes he tells people the most random things.
