My Two Little Runners

While Gabe was at school this morning, I took Zach to the library.  I thought it might be fun to get out together and play with the toys and books there.  Zach spent one second with a puzzle and then started running.  Gabe was the same way around this age.  When Gabe was out in public, he just wanted to run; and Zach is the same way!  He ran around the book stacks laughing and laughing, and then he ran out of the children's room screaming with glee.  Why are kids so loud in the places where they need to be the most quiet?  Anyway, I'd catch Zach and bring him back to the children's room.  I'd try to engage him with the toys and books there, but he wanted no part of it.  Off he'd go at a good clip, around the stacks and out of the room.  It's not like these boys never run in the house.  They run around the kitchen island multiple times a day.  In fact, for a long time there, Zach would do a few laps around the island right after getting down from his highchair after lunch and dinner.  So, I realize that when Zach and I get out together when Gabe's at school, it will be to Mall Tots or Gymboree...
